What Porta Potty Reviews Actually Complain About

Construction supers in Prince George's County, Washington DC, and Montgomery County do not write reviews about cabin color. They write them when a toilet never arrives, when weekly service is skipped and still billed, or when nobody answers after the deposit clears.

We read a few hundred public portable-restroom reviews. The same problems keep showing up. United Site Services is 1.4 stars from 258 Yelp reviews across 131 locations. ASAP Site Services is 2.3 / Poor on Trustpilot from 2,967 reviews. Here is what those customers wrote, with a link on every excerpt.

Problems start after you pay

A quote looks local. A card is charged. Then the person who sold the job is not the person who owns a truck. That is the broker vs local fleet split.

An ASAP Site Services reviewer on Trustpilot wrote: “They charged my card multiple times and refused to refund my money!!! No response when I call, the phone just rings.” The review is dated January 13, 2026 on that page.

Another ASAP Trustpilot review described a call center that could see the order and could not move a truck: “I finally got through to customer service the next morning (day before event) and they claimed I didn't approve a price increase so that's why it wasn't delivered. I asked what the cost increase was, no one could tell me.”

A charged card is not a confirmed stop. A confirmed stop is a unit, a route, and someone who still answers on delivery day. Ask who owns the trucks before you hire.

No-shows and last-minute cancels

In the reviews we coded, delivery failures showed up more than any other stage: no-show, late window, or an “overbooked” cancel on the day of drop-off. Crews are already on site. The 800-number says the unit is on a truck.

A United Site Services review on PissedConsumer, posted July 7, 2025, reads: “Units were supposed to be delivered on July 3rd. I called twice on July 3rd, to verify delivery, and was told they were on a truck to be delivered. The Porta Potties never arrived! Called the Emergency number multiple times, the answering service was rude, and I never received a call back. Had to hire a separate company.” The same incident is also on United Site Services’ BBB file. The reviewer said the event was for 160 people.

A United Site Services Birdeye/Google review described a party order: payment taken, Thursday drop confirmed, Thursday silent, Friday told there were no drivers for the area, then advised to “call around and find a local company.”

A Porta Potty Direct Trustpilot review said the cancel came during the delivery window: “Cancelled our portaloo hire at midday on the day of drop off within the delivery time slot with the subject of the email being 'Overbook'.”

Skipped weekly service, still billed

A United Site Services Yelp review wrote: “Our toilet hasn't been serviced in 3 weeks. Its foul, overflowing and full of flies. We've called multiple times and they still haven't serviced it. We're supposed to have it done twice a week. They also charge even if they don't come.”

A construction United Site Services review on Birdeye/Google said: “United could not maintain a pump out schedule for 2 porta-potty units on a construction site. Had to call and email numerous times. Almost had to shut the project down on 2 occasions because the porta potties were in such bad shape and violated OSHA regulations. If there was another company that serviced King William we would not hesitate to change providers. SERVICE IS TERRIBLE.”

Pickup that never happens

The job ends. Pickup is requested. Cleaning stops. The unit sits. Write pickup into the order before that happens.

A United Site Services PissedConsumer review posted June 23, 2022 says: “The pick-up was conducted nine business days after the pick-up request. They immediately stopped the cleaning service, but didn't request the pick-up. As the resident, I called on days 6-9 to repeatedly request pick up due to the smell. 13 days without any service.”

A United Site Services Yelp review wrote: “We had a wedding on June 21st with promise of pickup of the porta potties by the 23rd. It is now July 1 with no pickup. They simply refuse to pick them up. There is no local number so you are talking to people across the USA.”

What good construction reviews mention

Local-fleet reviews in this market keep naming the same things: someone answers, the unit looks new, the weekday holds, and if the pad is locked or blocked the company says so instead of marking the stop complete. That is service proof.

A gotügo Birdeye/Facebook review from a job-site customer said: “They arrive as scheduled. If the port-o-potty is locked, they keep the combination on file so they can service it without delay. If they can't service it, they'll generate an email saying the unit could not be serviced. The units are clean, look new, and not an eye sore on projects.” Keep the combo on file the same way.

What to ask before you hire

1. Who owns the trucks: the company on the quote, or a sub they will find later?
2. What weekday is the stop, in writing, before the deposit?
3. Who answers after 6pm, and is that a local dispatcher or a national menu?
4. How is a missed visit reported to you the same day?
5. Does the combo stay on file so the tech is not locked out?
6. When does pickup happen, and does cleaning continue until the unit leaves?

Price matters. It is not what 5-star construction reviews lead with. A United Site Services PissedConsumer review from July 25, 2022 said a two-day reunion quote came in at $1,000 and a local company did the same job for $150.
